Since June 2006 Eurasian Lawyers Association launched the project Diplomacy and Law – Journal of Security in Euro-Atlantic region by financial support of NATO Public Diplomacy Division. The journal is dedicated to existing relationship between NATO and Azerbaijan Republic. Consequently, the journal gives the opportunity to readers to be acquainted with articles and documentations relating to this topic written by local scholars, not only of Azerbaijani, but also of other scholars in Caucasus, Ambassadors of NATO member states accredited in the region, NATO representatives, representatives of different International Organizations dealing with Security issues in Euro-Atlantic region, leaders and members of civil society, experts, state officials.
The articles mostly cover the role of NATO in building of democracy in the region and respecting of human rights and freedoms, crisis management, partnership of Azerbaijan with NATO structures, combating of smuggling in borders and NATO recommendations, etc.
Apart from various interesting articles there was decided to publish the interviews with political figures, heads of diplomatic missions and civil society representatives related to Azerbaijan-NATO relations in order to present the wide range public the similar and cross-cutting views of interviewees. The main language of the journal is Azerbaijani. However if the author of the article does not speak Azerbaijani then his/her article can be published in the original language of the author.
The target audience of the journal are the mostly academics, civil society leaders and members, government officials, Ambassadors of NATO member states accredited in the Caucasus, representatives of International Organizations, military lawyers and lawyers working in this area, as well as individuals interested in the areas of arms control law, the law of armed conflict (international humanitarian law) and collective security law and the youth of Azerbaijan.
Usually, Eurasian Lawyers Association conducts round tables after each issue of the journal. The aim of the round tables to present the public new edition of the journal and discuss the articles and information published in journal with the participation of beneficiaries and appropriate both state and international institutions.
