Eurasian Lawyers Association (ELA) was established on October 2005 and officially registered on January 27, 2006. The mission of ELA is to study and promote human rights and the rule of law and propagating them among people and assisting the lawyers throughout Eurasia.
The objectives of ELA are the following:
§ sharing ongoing legal practice among the other lawyers of Eurasian continent;
§ studying research works in different fields of law;
§ taking active part in the implementation of state policy in human rights and freedoms;
§ conducting research in protection of human rights and freedoms in Eurasia;
§ learning the practice of the countries in Eurasia to conform the normative acts into democratic principles and norms, as well as legislative acts, international conventions;
§ enlightenment activities on Conventions in protection of fundamental human rights and freedoms;
§ teaching international conventions and agreement in human rights and freedoms;
§ organizing the practice exchange among Eurasian lawyers;
§ implementation of innovative ideas in legal system;
§ developing the legal profession;
§ learning of international standards of lawyer’s code of ethics;
§ enhancing the active participation of Association members in international meetings;
§ organizing human rights conferences, meetings and symposiums;
§ comparative analysis of conformity of national legislation to the conventions;
§ research activity in different fields of law;
§ proposing assistance to authorities in the promotion of legislative acts;
§ increasing the role of lawyers in the development of civil society, consolidating their international co-operation;
§ organizing educational meetings in social, economic and cultural rights;
§ conducting the translation, publication and distribution of foreign issues;
§ conducting the research and monitoring work in different fields of human rights.
